Meditation 101 – Quieting the Mind and Resting in the Silence That Is Within You

Settle back in your chair comfortably and close your eyes and relax for a few minutes before we begin our journey of experiencing the feeling of peace of Spirit in this moment.

And as you do so notice, just notice how when you take a few minutes of rest from all activities, from all the thinking, talking, looking, and doing you can become still.

As you allow yourself to be still you let go of any expectations of what you should feel or do. Because of this you will begin to focus less and less on yourself and your surroundings and as a result begin to experience more and more peace.

Breathe and as you do so maintain an awareness of the present moment, let go of any fears or concerns that distract you since you have the resolve to allow no disruptions during your time alone in the presence of Spirit.

Resting in the silence that is within you a feeling of serenity begins to wash over you that relaxes the muscles in your body and all tension is released.

Can you see that the peace you experience in the quiet of this moment helps you renew as you bathe in the strength of the presence of Spirit that is overflowing within you as love, joy and peace?

I am going to offer you a suggestion that your mind can easily accept when it comes to feeling the peace of spirit in this moment.

That suggestion is that you begin to meditate on a daily basis so that you can have that experience of peace again and again.

What's more when you begin to meditate on a daily basis certain aspects of the quiet, settled feeling and sense of peace stay and linger with you long after you have finished meditating.

As if that wasn't enough meditating on a daily basis actually has a cumulative effect which means the more often you consistently meditate on a daily basis the more benefits of meditation you will experience in more and more and more empowering way.
