Inner Healing – 2 Simple Self Healing Techniques

Inner healing can be described as a sense of peace and well being. Where once there was turmoil and chaos there is now inner peace. Inner healing can occur through achieving a state of peace and relaxation.

Healing from within takes dedication and an open mind. Inner healing can occur through professional counseling, meditation, yoga, qigong, biofeedback, hypnotherapy, and other types of traditional and alternative therapies. It is always advised to seek professional advice for any type of illness. However, in addition to professional advice you can also try some self help techniques to induce a deep state of relaxation and peace which can promote healing.

One very simple technique for inner healing is to do a healing meditation everyday. Find a comfortable place where you will be undisturbed for the next ten minutes. I recommend sitting upright (if comfortable) with your feet planted firmly on the ground and your arms and feet uncrossed. Close your eyes and go inward. Really tune into your body and take a few deep breaths. Put your attention into your heart and breathe into your heart. As you do this, feel your heart opening. You might associate a beautiful healing color such as a gold or a pink color emanating from your heart and soothing your soul. Imagine yourself surrendering your problems and forgiving those that have wronged you in the past. Imagine yourself letting go and feeling a sense of peace and well being. Basque in the feeling of well being for as long as it feels right. I recommend at least 10 minutes to 30 minutes a day

Another self healing technique is to say affirmations everyday. Meditate on what might be the best affirmation for you. Some examples of some good affirmations are: I am at peace, I am whole, I am healed, I am strong, I am well...(etc.) As a reminder, you can write your affirmations on index cards and post them on your bathroom mirror, your refrigerator, or anywhere you will see them everyday. You can say them out loud or to yourself. I recommend saying the affirmations at least three times in a row, three times a day. I find they are most effective when you really feel what you are saying. Feel the peace, feel the strength, and feel the well being as you say the affirmations. When you say the affirmations you are tapping into the part of you that is perfect and whole no matter what your situation might be.

After doing the healing meditation and the affirmations for ten days hopefully you will feel more optimistic about your situation and be encouraged to make the techniques part of your daily routine.
